Our signature Beach Ride is a 75+ minute experience set entirely on a truly secluded stretch of coastline—free from busy roads, railroad crossings, or freeway overpasses. From the moment you arrive, the world quiets, and the ride unfolds at the natural rhythm of the shore.

Located in Goleta, just north of Santa Barbara and adjacent to the iconic The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, we access Haskell’s Beach through a private, gated entry, ensuring an atmosphere that is remote, tranquil, and unspoiled. The beach itself is wide and expansive, framed by soft dunes and open horizons that invite you to slow down and take it all in.

This protected coastline is rich with life. Guests often spot pods of dolphins just offshore, pelicans gliding low over the waves, and—on occasion—a whale moving gracefully along the distant horizon. It is a place where nature feels present, undisturbed, and wonderfully alive.

At Santa Barbara Beach Horseback Rides, we specialize in crafting memorable horseback experiences for couples, families, and small groups—each designed to feel personal, unhurried, and deeply connected to the coast.

We proudly offer Private and Semi-Private Beach Rides throughout the day, year-round, with no midday blackout times or seasonal restrictions. Every ride takes place directly on the sand, allowing guests to explore the Santa Barbara shoreline at its most serene—without busy roads, overpasses, trains or interruptions—just the sound of the surf and the steady rhythm of hoofbeats.

As you ride along this expansive stretch of coastline, ocean breezes, wide horizons, and ever-changing light create a setting that feels both invigorating and romantic. Wildlife is part of the experience here; guests are often treated to sightings of dolphins just offshore, pelicans gliding low over the water, and, on rare and special occasions, a whale passing quietly in the distance.

This is a true bucket-list experience—one that lingers long after the ride has ended.

As a thoughtful finishing touch, all bookings include a complimentary wine tasting gift certificate from Carr Winery in downtown Santa Barbara—an invitation to continue savoring the experience long after you leave the shore.

Seasonal Specials: Save $30 per Couple

Winter along the Santa Barbara coast is a season of quiet beauty—cooler air, golden light, and unhurried moments by the sea. It is an especially lovely time to experience a beach ride, whether you choose an early morning journey through soft coastal mist or an evening ride timed with a spectacular Pacific sunset.

To celebrate the season, we are pleased to offer our Winter Beach Ride Special, with $30 in savings per couple.

With this seasonal offering, Semi-Private Beach Rides are available at an all-inclusive rate of $180 per person on weekdays (excluding holiday weeks) and $195 per person on weekends. Private Rides may be reserved for an additional $25 per person, and special rates are available for families or groups of four or more.

As part of the experience, guests will also receive two complimentary two-for-one wine tasting certificates to enjoy at the wonderful Carr Winery. Wine tasting gift certificates are emailed upon booking, offering a seamless way to extend your day beyond the shore.

We also welcome inquiries for engagements, anniversaries, corporate outings, and our beloved Kid’s Horse Encounter for children ages 2–12—each thoughtfully tailored with the same care and attention that define our rides.

Winter passes quickly. This is a season best experienced slowly, in the saddle, with the sea beside you.
